Who runs The Accountability Lab?
The Accountability Lab is run by Matt Schmitt, a member of The Operator Standard team. The Operator Standard is a subscription discipline app whose AI, ARCANE, plans daily tasks and checks in on them. Because of that connection, this site features ARCANE as its AI option, and links to the app are tracked.
This is not the official Operator Standard website. The official site is operatorstandard.com, and the app is published by 44Seven Media, LLC.
Why does this site exist?
Search for "AI accountability coach" and most results are vendor blogs ranking their own app first. We wanted one place that explains every kind of accountability, including the free and human options, describes apps from their own published pages, and is upfront about which team it works for.
The tools are free because most accountability needs no app at all: a reliable person, clear terms and a fixed check-in time go a long way.
What will the Lab never do?
We will never invent statistics, quotes, testimonials or test results, never describe a competitor from anything but its own pages or store listing, and never present ourselves as neutral. Every price carries the date we checked it. When we quote a vendor's claim, we label it as the vendor's claim.
See the methodology and disclosure. Corrections are welcome; if something on a page is out of date, the vendor's own current page wins.
